Perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause are distinct and important stages that most women go through between age 40-55. Significant hormonal shifts occur through this process that change the frequency of menstrual periods and cause a great number of potential symptoms. Each person's experience of menopause is a bit different; however, there are some common symptoms and concerns such as:
  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Palpitations
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Anxiety attacks
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Memory loss
  • Mood swings
  • Joint aches and pains, without swelling
  • Changes in eye and oral health
If you are experiencing these symptoms and having a hard time managing them, please speak to your provider about what options might be available to help you feel better. Read through this webpage for tips on how to talk to your provider about menopause if you are looking for some guidance.
