Registered Dietitian & Health Promoter
Sarah Burnett, MPH, RD

Sarah is the Registered Dietitian and Health Promoter at West Carleton Family Health Team. She completed her Bachelors of Applied Science in Nutrition and Food at Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson University) and her Masters of Public Health in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Toronto in 2020. She has worked as a dietitian in public health and primary care including working in diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation and in other rural and semi-rural communities across Ontario.
She has experience supporting patients to manage a wide range of health conditions as well as working with individuals to improve their diets to prevent health issues. Sarah has training in Motivational Interviewing, Intuitive Eating and is pursuing additional education on supporting individuals with eating disorders. She takes a Weight Inclusive, HAES-informed approach, meaning that she focuses on improving health with patients no matter their weight, and understands that weight loss is not automatically necessary for health improvement.

As Health Promoter, Sarah uses her public health education and experience to improve clinic health communications and coordinate with local organizations for health promotion activities. Sarah is very passionate about the importance of health promotion to prevent illness and empower patients - both as health promoter and as our dietitian.
