Urgent Care Clinic - How it works
  • The UCC is for active patients of the WCFHT who have an URGENT health issue that can not wait until regular weekday medical office hours. E.G. Prescription renewals will not be done.
Saturday and Sunday 10AM to 1PM
  • Patients may reserve a time slot via the Patient Health Portal (green + sign in appointment screen) or come to the clinic in person and register for the next time slot available. To register for the West Carleton Patient Health Portal, please check our web site www.wcfht.ca
  • Patient may not be seen on a first-come basis. We reserve the right to triage the patients based on their medical condition that has been presented. If you are experiencing pain, please communicate this to the reception staff on arrival.
  • Our physician can only process a limited number of patients per hour; therefore lengthy waits can be expected. All patients that have registered for the UCC by 1PM will be seen.
  • Our reception staff can estimate your wait time. You can then choose to come back later. If you choose to leave, please let our receptionist know. Please check-in with reception when you return.
  • On the Patient Health Portal you can pre register for the weekend UCC starting Friday night, and then arrive at the office at your pre-registered time. Please note, this is a place holder in the queue and there still may be others ahead of you and you may still need to wait. This is not an appointment time. Using this feature should shorten your wait time if you choose a time slot in the latter part of the clinic.
  • If you have booked an appointment for a weekday and no longer need it, please advise the receptionist.
  • If you reserve a weekend time slot and no longer need it, please call our cancelation line to advise us.
  • Our phone lines are not open during the UCC due to the number of staff we have on duty to service our sick patients.
